July 4th, 2011

Happy 4th of July!!

To start our morning off, we had a Neighborhood Children's Parade starting in front of our home! The night before, so many friends joined us in our driveway to decorate their bikes, rollerblades, scooters, cars, etc. It was such a FUN night! We ended it with some pre-4th Fireworks. ;)

In the morning, everyone joined us decked out in their best Patriotic wear! We had the marching music blasting from our porch & the Start Line marked!
Eric got his blasting horn out and got everyone one their mark, get set, MARCH!
When the kids all rounded back down towards the finish line, the adults threw candy at them! Then we opened up the Treat Shack with an old fashioned popcorn maker,
patriotic treats, and sno cones!
The adults had an egg toss and it was so much fun we had a couple of rounds!
We were covered in egg by the end!
My mom and I came out dressed the exact same!! lol- we had a good laugh over this!
Genevieve looked SO adorable in her strawberry patch outfit from Grammy!! What a doll!

Later that day, we joined our community at the Traverse Mountain 4th of July Festival (free of charge! isn't that nice?) up at the park. They had water slides, games, prizes, and yummy food!
Michael saw a friend, April, at the festivities. She just loves him!

After that, we packed up a picnic dinner to take to
Thanksgiving Point's Fantastic Fireworks show!
We invited Russ & Jennifer's family to come with.
We played Scrabble, Lego Race Car game, Uno, BS, DANCED, sang, told jokes, played with glow sticks, rolled up in blankets to shield ourselves from the quick rain shower, and rode the train that was going around the festival!

Daddy is always the preferred snuggler. Everyone takes their turn!

Permanent fixtures in Eric's lap every day!!
Especially when watching the Fireworks. <3
