Eric's friend made this awesome cake for Genevieve! We had bird whistles there because Genevieve loves blowing on whistles and whistling (she can actually do it!).
We made Mama's Cafe recipe Monte Cristo's for dinner for the family!
In lieu of singing "Happy Birthday" we blew on bird whistles then said "Happy Birthday Genevieve!" While we were doing all this, BabyG was tasting bits of frosting and watching the candle. We thought she was going for some more frosting but instead...
touched the flame of the candle and burned her tiny finger!! What a sad little baby!! We all went running to her aid. I ran her finger under cold water and found that she didn't get "burned" just felt the heat and hurt her little finger.
She wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with her cake until the next morning. She took quite a while learning to trust the cake again wondering if it would "bite" her again... we worked long and hard on her eating her cake! She finally went to town with it! Deeeeeeee-licious! Vanilla Cake with Raspberry Jam inside.
How fun! I love the idea with the whistles. Megan and Matthew both knew how to whistle at a young age.
